Liam Webster (OH 2005-2012) spoke to Year 12 and 13 Business and Economics Society on Zoom about his career since leaving Hymers.
Liam shared his journey from Lancaster University to Morgan Stanley and now working as a portfolio Manager at Soloda Investment Advisors. Liam shared his tips for choosing a university and his reason for choosing a course with a placement year.
Liam's passion for Economics started at Hymers and he shared his memories of Mr McTeare, Mr Gravelle, and Mr Exley giving him a love of the subject. After Liam's placement year at Morgan Stanley, he went back to University with a job offer to return after his final year at Lancaster. Liam shared some reading material for the students around considering internships and a Netflix must-watch! He also shared some precious advice with the students about their university choices and the courses they may be planning to choose.
There were some strong questions from the students about working in banking and the day-to-day details of his current role. Thank you so much, Liam. Keep in touch and we hope to see you again soon.
