The Development Office would like to extend a tremendous thank you to everyone who supported our second Giving Day. Across two incredibly energetic and community-focused days, our alumni, former parents and students came together to raise a staggering £130,000 in support of the John Hymers Bursary Fund.
From the very start, there was a real sense of enthusiasm and generosity, with the whole Hymers community fully embracing the occasion. A wide range of activities took place across the two days, each contributing to the fantastic overall total.
Student-led initiatives such as the Junior School stalls raised £550 and a popular doughnut sale adding a further £250. Meanwhile, two colour runs proved to be a standout success, bringing fun and energy to the event while raising an impressive £4,000.
Our parent community also got involved, with a ‘Paint and Sip’ evening raising £150 and providing an opportunity for families to come together in support of the cause. One of the most inspiring contributions came from the Headmaster taking part in the East Yorkshire Half Marathon, which alone raised an extraordinary £12,000.
Every contribution, large or small, has made a meaningful difference. The success of Giving Day is a testament to the strength and generosity of the Hymers community and the shared commitment to supporting future generations.
We are hugely grateful to everyone who took part, donated, organised or simply helped spread the word. Together, you have made this year’s Giving Day a remarkable success.
