We are happy to share that Amber Roy-Stanley (OH 2013-2022) has completed University at the University of York, with a 2:1 BA Hons degree in English Literature
University hasn’t been as much of a breeze for me, I have had tough moments and ongoing health issues with my heart condition POTs, but I have never let it stop me.I have balanced my degree along with three part time jobs. I have always worked my hardest, even through tough times and not feeling in the greatest condition. In my final year I became Captain of the Women’s Sport Kabaddi Team. I took part in the Kabaddi World Cup and got through to the Semi-Finals 2025. Next year, I will become the Kabaddi Coach and make my way to train our girl’s team in York.I have also completed a course in Nutrition and Health and am a certified Level 2 Nutrition and Health Specialist.
I am to complete a Level 2 Gym Instructor course by August and will make my way to becoming a Personal Trainer, in order to help others, who like me deal with health conditions, but wish not to let it affect their fitness and ability! This Summer I also took part in Work Experience with Hudgell Solicitors. There is so much more to come! I think that to be able to say that I have finished university with an excellent grade is such an achievement.Amber Roy- Stanley,
