After Hymers College, I went to Cambridge University before gaining a place on an in-house training course at Eastern Counties Newspapers. I worked on various East Anglian papers before coming to London and working as a reporter, then news editor on The Lawyer, a trade paper for the legal profession.

From there I went to the BBC, where I worked as a producer in the radio newsroom before freelancing for a while. When the Greater London Authority was created, I applied for the post of press officer and joined the newly formed media team publicising mayoral policy under Ken Livingstone. I did this for 5 years before stopping to have kids.

Since then, I've done a mix of freelance writing and producing. I co-founded a production company six years ago called Tempest Productions which makes podcasts and audio dramas. We've recently started a new podcast channel called The History Kiosk.

In all that time I've written fiction -novels and short stories. Some were self-published, some published in anthologies and some adapted for audio, and the last two traditionally published. I continue to write fiction and I am also working on a non-fiction project.

The Youngster is described by the publisher (Deixis Press) as a "literary domestic thriller".

Georgie is forever worrying about her ageing mother’s habit of attracting the wrong kind of people. But when the Youngster comes on the scene, she starts to panic. This strange, lost soul, at least 30 years her mother’s junior, is coming between the two women. It starts with blocked phone calls and changed locks and then, suddenly, Georgie’s mother is gone.

The Youngster is about the cat-and-mouse game between a revenge-obsessed daughter and a sinister interloper. It was very loosely inspired by the Daphne Franks case, which has highlighted the dangers of so-called predatory marriage. The book is released on 17 July 2025 and can be ordered from any bookshop or via Amazon or Foyles or directly from the publisher.
