After leaving Hymers College three years ago, Chiamaka Obialo, OH 2015-22 continued her education at the University of Manchester, to study a Bachelor of Architecture. Now looking at life beyond university, after graduating this summer, she has secured a Development Internship at KFC.
During the internship, Chiamaka will be able to apply her skills from her degree course to develop spatial layouts for KFC restaurants, drive-thrus and takeaways. She will also get the opportunity to gain exposure to market research, financial modeling, legal compliance, and communication strategies that guide property development decisions, as well as helping to coordinate timelines, work cross-functionally with other departments, and support the team in delivering successful projects.
In July 2025, I will graduate with a bachelor's degree in Architecture and begin an 8-week Development Internship at KFC's headquarters in the UK and Ireland. The role primarily entails the architectural design and property management of new KFC restaurants and drive-thrus.
This opportunity is more than just a summer internship - it’s a chance to bring together everything I love: design, strategy, creativity, and purpose. I can’t wait to get started!
