| Life After Hymers |
We are excited to hear that Old Hymerian (2008–2015) Tanmay Hingorani is set to appear in the upcoming series of BBC series, The Apprentice.
In November, ahead of his TV debut, Tan returned to school to visit our students and families, speaking about his career in London as an AI Consultant. At the time, there was no mention of his forthcoming BBC appearance, as Tan was bound by a Non-Disclosure Agreement.
Tan’s former teachers who still work at the school send him their very best wishes:
“A genuine, nice guy who will do well in the boardroom.”
During his time at Hymers Sixth Form, Tan was part of an award-winning Young Enterprise team. Assistant Head of Sixth Form, Mr McTeare, who was also Tan’s Form Tutor and Economics teacher, remembers him well. He recalls Tan as a talented and capable student and is very much looking forward to seeing him on screen in the coming weeks.
Tan recently shared these words on his LinkedIn page...
It’s game time. Excited to be part of Season 20 of The Apprentice UK.Through intense selection stages and embracing the pure absurdity of the process, including jetting off to Hong Kong for the first task, it’s been a truly unforgettable experience. From going door-to-door washing cars as a kid, to selling travel packs competing in Young Enterprise, to working on meaningful problems as part of AI product teams, and now building Munchcard — a platform for independent food and drink spots, I’ve always felt a spark for business. I’m grateful for the opportunity to catch a grilling from the man himself. See you in the boardroom, January 29th @ 9pm.
Good luck, Tan! We’ll be watching from Hymers Avenue and look forward to hearing all about your time with Lord Sugar.
