We were saddened to hear of the passing of Donald Robson, OH 1944-50 at the age of 91 years old. Donald started playing rugby at Hymers College, representing the school at every age group and eventually playing for the 1st XV. He was one of the last Old Hymerians from the Yorkshire Cup winning side in 1959.
He left Hymers College to complete his National Service but continued to play for the Old Hymerians, as well as for the Guards and Blackheath. As well as playing rugby, he played cricket for the Old Hymerians and when he retired from rugby he refereed within Yorkshire for many years.
