This year, the Development Office is launching its inaugural Giving Day, raising money to fund bursary places. For almost 132 years, Hymers College has provided an outstanding education to bright and hardworking young people. A flagship school of the North, Hymers has long symbolised excellence, raising aspirations and creating opportunities. Hull is the fourth most deprived area in the UK and with disadvantage deepening, access to a Hymers education represents a transformational opportunity for the children on our doorstep to make the most of their potential.
Throughout Giving Day, you will have the chance to hear from past and present bursary students about the impact Hymers has made on their lives. This is a reminder of how the power of a bursary place can change lives and impact future generations.
Here at Hymers, bursary recipients currently make up twelve percent of the Hymers population. Our School is as diverse and multi-faceted as the world outside our gates; our bursary programme ensures deserving children who will enrich our community are a part of that. The impact of a bursary on the student receiving the support, their community and their family cannot be underestimated.
Over the two days, we will be running challenges and inviting everyone to get involved, and we will also be hosting a number of fundraising events.

We are asking our Old Hymerian community to help make a difference this Giving Day. Your donation, no matter how big or small, will contribute towards providing a bursary place which will transform young lives through a Hymers education.
To find out more, please visit our Giving Day page on our website. You can also follow us on Facebook and Instagram, to stay up-to-date on all of our Giving Day activities.
Thank you so much in advance for all your support. We look forward to a fantastic Giving Day.
