Life After Hymers |
We were delighted to hear from Old Hymerian, Tom Edmiston (2018-2022) who has recently graduated with a BSc International Disaster Management & Humanitarian Response from the University of Manchester with First Class Honours.
This marks a significant personal milestone, made even more rewarding by him scoring 78% in his dissertation, titled ‘Corruption in Crisis? Political-Economic Explanations of the UK PPE Scandal during COVID-19’. He also scored over 80% in multiple disciplines, including state relations with illicit economies, ethical decision-making and geophysical risk.
Balancing academic study with leadership roles across academic and sports societies, alongside working part-time as a student bar supervisor, makes this result all the more meaningful for Tom. A couple of months ago he also won The University of Manchester Sport Volunteer of the Year award at the prestigious Whitworth Hall. He spent three years volunteering within University Sport alongide his studies.
His next chapter sees him start a graduate role at the Bank of New York, working within the Client-Facing Division of their Asset Servicing Team.
Well done, Tom. We wish you continued success from Hymers.
