There’s something magical about watching our youngest pupils open letters from Old Hymerians who once sat exactly where they sit now on the field by the lake. The room fills with giggles, wide‑eyed wonder, and the occasional gasp when an 'older' Hymerian claims to be “as old as a dinosaur”.

These letters arrive like  time capsules: memories of favourite teachers, tales of muddy sports days, house rivalries that still spark friendly debate, and photos that make everyone smile. The children loved every detail, delighted to discover that the “dinosaurs” of today were once just like them - nervous, excited and ready for the next part of their Hymers journey. 

The Old Hymerian connection brings together every generation of our school community. Whether it’s a love of sport, a passion for reading, or the pride of belonging to a house, these stories remind our pupils that they’re part of something bigger and a tradition that grows stronger with every passing year.

As our students prepare for their own journey into Senior School, the well‑wishes from Old Hymerians from across the world made a very exciting start to the day. Encouragement, kindness, and a sprinkle of humour go a long way - thank you to all of our Old Hymerian community that supported us with this project once more. What an extraordinary Old Hymerian community we have - you are always ready to inspire the next generation.
