National Football Champions led by Old Hymerian Will Leafe

Hampton’s Second XI have won the ESFA U18 “B‑team” Schools’ Cup

Hampton’s Second XI have been crowned English Schools’ Football Association (ESFA) Champions in the U18 Cup for B teams following a stunning victory against Northampton School for Boys. After six intense rounds, they faced off at Stoke City’s stadium, buoyed by over 100 supporters—students, parents, and staff—dressed in black and yellow and creating a vibrant atmosphere Hampton School.

Old Hymerian Mr Will Leafe, Team coach and Head of Politics, congratulated the team on their superb season:

I can’t put into words how proud I feel. To be National Champions and win three trophies in a season is a rare achievement, but what I’m most proud of is how they have done it: they are the perfect example of the success which follows when a team is absolutely united in a culture of commitment, humility and belief. None of us will ever forget being part of this exceptional journey.

Hampton stormed into a 4‑0 half‑time lead: Olly Spray scored twice (including a header from Ben Wallace’s cross), Savan Soni added a half‑volley, and captain Joe Murray volleyed home from a Sam Moylan‑Jones cross Hampton School. In the second half, midfielder Alex Ashton extended the lead with a composed finish and earned the ESFA Player of the Match award for his dominance in midfield English Schools' Football Association. This cup win caps a remarkable season: the Second XI also secured the Elgin Trophy and the London Independent Schools’ Cup—three trophies in one season. Coach Will Leafe praised the team for their unity, humility, and commitment throughout this exceptional journey.

We are delighted to hear about your success, Will!  All the best to you in your career and keep in touch.
