Allan Gurney OH Staff (1975-79)
We were saddened to hear of the passing of Allan Gurney, French Teacher at Hymers during the late 1970s. He passed away peacefully on 18th August 2025, aged 74 years. Dearly loved husband of the late Sarah and much loved father of Stephen and Michael.
Allan joined Hymers from Barnard Castle and as well as teaching French at the School, Allan also helped coach Rugby and Squash. Articles in our digital archiove refer to his French test been particularly hard to pass!
