Mark Bentley, who attended Hymers College from 1971 until 1979, is one of the UK's leading AimPoint Green Reading Instructors and a highly experienced Putting Coach. He has over 45 years playing experience and more than 10 years of golf coaching experience.  He is considered to be one of the most knowledgeable putting experts in the country.

He has recently been interviewed by Rice and Slice Golf Podcast:

The podcast came about after coaching Theo, a client from Derby, who booked in to see me and learn AimPoint Express last September.  He was really desperate for help with his putting so we arranged for him to come to Forest Pines where I give most of my lessons.

He loved the green reading technique I taught him and left after a couple of hours feeling far more confident than when he arrived.

A few weeks later I received a text from Theo telling me that AimPoint had really helped his game. He went on to say that no lesson he’d taken in the past had ever had such a positive effect on his game!

Then he mentioned that that he did a podcast with his pal Chenji  (I had no idea about this when he came for the lesson) and he sent me a link to listen to it. I listened to the podcast and he was so happy with what he learned and he couldn’t speak highly enough about his lesson and how his game had improved. It was obviously great publicity but so lovely when someone you’ve taught goes to the trouble to say thank you like that.

We’ve kept in touch since the lesson and he recently invited me onto the podcast as a guest. So on 10 May 2023, we all got together at Forest Pines and filmed a video for the podcast. They enjoyed it so much that they’ve already invited me back for another chat later in the year.

It’s also very flattering to be thought of as one of the UK's top coaches.

The podcast has since found its way to the creator of AimPoint who lives in USA and works with some of the main stars on PGA Tour. He has been delighted that AimPoint is getting all this extra publicity and is promoting the podcast to his own clients and social media audience.

AimPoint is a technique used by over 45% of PGA Tour players to read greens and accurately predict the break on every putt they face. As one of only 13 Certified AimPoint Instructors in England, Mark is one of the most experienced Coaches teaching this increasingly popular method and works with a number of Elite Amateurs & Professionals as well as club members (like Theo) who are looking to improve their weekend scores.
