OH News |
Recently, OH Chairman, Jonathan Leafe visited Cape Town, South Africa, and in advance of the trip, checked on LinkedIn to see if there were any Old Hymerians he could meet up with.
There was, and more surprisingly, it was Jed Hewson, one of Jonathan’s best friends from Swanland, who he literally hadn’t seen for over 40 years! Jed invited Jonathan and his partner up to his house for a South African Braai (BBQ) with his family. Jed has been in Cape Town for nearly 30 years, married to a South African whom he met in London, and has two daughters.
He regularly travels home to see his mum and dad, who are now based in the South to be near his older brothers - both OHs too.
It was fantastic to see Jed; it shows you how powerful LinkedIn is for tracking down long-lost friends. It was an incredible surprise that Jed was living in Cape Town and even better to meet up again after all of those years.
