Isabella has been elected as JCR President of Grey College, one of the 17 colleges of Durham University, following 3 years of studying Classics. She will take up the position following her graduation in July and serve as President for a year.

Isabella was voted in by her fellow peers, winning the election in a staggering 194-102 vote. The highly competitive position consists of leading the day-to-day operations of Grey College JCR. Through this, she will be the CEO and a trustee of the charity and responsible for a turnover of £250,000.

Throughout her time at Durham, Isabella has been heavily involved, becoming Events Manager of the college in September 2021 and running the Grey College Charity Fashion Show in aid of the County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust in June 2021. As well as this, she has been in the rowing and cheerleading teams, choir and sat on the JCR Executive Committee in her current capacity as Events Manager and now President-Elect.

"I attribute my involvement in college life at Durham and the passion I have wholly to my time at Hymers. The emphasis the school placed on the importance of extra curricular activities alongside our academic studies set me up perfectly for my time at Durham and gave me the foundations that have led to me becoming JCR President. The support of my teachers is the reason I am here now and I am constantly grateful for the help that Hymers gave me when I was a pupil there. The importance placed on leadership, time management and balancing my academic, sporting, musical and theatrical pursuits has set me up fantastically for this role and I will be forever grateful to Hymers for this!"
