Life After Hymers |
We were extremeley grateful to Old Hymerian, Graham Holden (2000 - 2010) for taking time out of his busy day to talk to Hymers Sixth Form students. He talked with them about his career journey since leaving Hymers and shared his own route to JP Morgan with the next generation of Hymers Investment Bankers. After completing four A Levels at Hymers Graham studied at the University of Warwick where he graduated with Bachelor of Science Economics (BSc) with First Class Honours. Graham joined JP Morgan straight from university and has worked in various roles - Analyst, Associate, Vice President, Executive Director before his current role as Managing Director, Leveraged Finance Capital Markets at J.P. Morgan.
Graham had a few words of advice for those considering following a similar pathway to his and shared his thoughts from A Levels, to choosing Universities and also why he pivoted from Law to Economics later in his A Level studies. He emphasised the importance of building a strong professional network in the finance sector, joining University societies, developing face-to-face relationships, and staying up to date with financial affairs and the application process for graduate entry roles.
We were delighted to welcome Graham back to B2 virtually from his offices on the 21st floor in Canary Wharf ( what a view!), the students enjoyed hearing about his journey and his words of wisdom that another Old Hymerian had passed to him.
Thanks, Graham. Keep up the great work.
