Paul Webb OH 1986-96 Managing Director of Eyeweb and his team are embarking on Marathon Challenge for NHS Charity. No stranger to raising funds for charity Paul and the team are taking on this marathon with a twist.
They will be swapping screens for scenery on September 26 as they take on a 26.2-mile walking marathon which is all in support of local NHS charity Health Stars. The team will be treking from Brough to Hornsea in a single day, traversing the East Yorkshire countryside. But this isn’t your average charity walk.
Dubbed "Cards Against Eyeweb", the fundraiser adds a unique twist: a series of forfeits that the team must complete throughout the marathon. From wearing outlandish costumes to crunching on dog biscuits, the forfeits are ranked from “Easy” to “Evil” and are unlocked as donation milestones are reached.
“As a creative agency, we like to think a little outside the box when it comes to our annual fundraisers,” “We wanted to do something that tested us but also got people laughing and feeling part of the event.” Paul Scott
The challenge aims to engage supporters in a fun, interactive way while raising crucial funds for NHS Health Stars, the official charity of Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust. The charity provides vital support for patients, families, and NHS staff by funding resources and equipment not covered by standard NHS budgets.
Anita Green, Charity Manager at Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust, praised the initiative: “We’d like to wish everyone taking part in Eyeweb’s fundraiser the very best of luck. As a small charity, we depend on the generosity of businesses like Eyeweb to help us achieve our fundraising goals. The money raised will make a real difference by enhancing patient care and supporting staff wellbeing.”
Eyeweb’s connection with Health Stars runs deeper than this event, the agency previously designed and built the charity’s website, cementing a long-term partnership built on community impact.
Donations are now open via the team’s official JustGiving page, and Eyeweb is also calling on local businesses to step up as event sponsors with a £250 donation. Whether you're in it for the laughs or the cause, Cards Against Eyeweb promises to be a memorable and meaningful marathon.
