Life After Hymers |
Following on from our pen‑pal initiative a cherished tradition in the Junior School our children have received replies from Old Hymerians spanning ages 20 to 90, from countries like the USA and Australia. Old Hymerians shared school photos, vintage report cards, tales of sports and lifelong friendships formed at Hymers. It was wonderful to see Year 6 and their classmates participating in such a meaningful exchange. This year it evidently inspired alumni in your community to open up with their own recollections—how school life has evolved, what traditions persist, and what still resonates from their time at Hymers.
This further inspired Junior School pupil Lottie to find Old Hymerians that her family knew and worked with. She interviewed them herself asking questions about their time here at Hymers. Thank you to Old Hymerians Sophie Smith (1995-2002), Finn Starky (2013-2023) Thomas Milner (1989-1995) ,Julian Ooi (1988 -1995) for your time taken to speak to Lottie, it was a delight to hear your memories. You can hear from our Old Hymerians in their video interview with Lottie.
Thank you Lottie for your fantastic interviewing skills and intiative!
