We are very sorry to share the passing of John Stones who died February 2022, aged 83. John attended Hymers between 1949 and 1956 and, after leaving school, obtained a first-class degree in German at Manchester University. John went on to become a teacher of languages at a school in Bransholme, Hull and was also a keen member of the Cottingham Lawn Tennis Club.
A celebration of his life was held with many speakers highlighting his fine qualities.
