During 2020, Mark Freestone PhD (OH 1989-96) published his first book, 'Making a Psychopath', which looks into some of the most dangerous minds in the country.
He is a Senior Lecturer for Psychiatry at the Queen Mary University of London. For over 15 years, he has worked in prisons and forensic mental health services as a researcher and clinician, including at Rampton and Broadmoor Special Hospitals as part of the Dangerous and Severe Personality Disorder (DSPD) Programme. More recently, he was the leading expert who helped to create Killing Eve's Villanelle.
In July (2022), Mark was a guest at CarFest to talk about his book and answer questions from the audience. A popular speaker, Mark discussed what traits a psychopath might have and the differences between sociopaths and narcissists.
