1956 - 1964
Richard attended Hymers College during the 1960s and gained his building degree at Brighton. He joined the Houlton firm in 1970 after a period of being with a Sheffield builder Longdens. In 1980, Richard became joint Managing Director and a year later in 1981 became the sole Managing Director. In 1996, he progressed onto Chairman for Houltons becoming Life President in August 2018. Richard built the Memorial Hall and member of the Houlton dynasty. His father George built the school in 1890s.
