John is an expert, film commission at IDM Südtirol-Alto Adige and writer, director, editor & educator, working mainly in the documentary field.
After training at the BBC & the NFTS, based in Berlin, Germany (1992-2006; 2015 - present); European Film College, Denmark (2006-8); Aberystwyth University (2008-10); University of South Wales (2010-15). Currently Visiting Fellow at USW; Programme Leader, MA Documentary, Met Film School, Berlin; faculty at ZeLIG, Italy. Co-Host, The D-Word documentary community (2005-18).
