After qualifying from Oxford his interests in preventive cardiology and evidence-based medicine led to a Masters in Public Health at Harvard (2004/05) working at the World Health Organisation (2005) and DPhil in epidemiology from Oxford (2010).
A proficient cardiologist, a passionate educator and a prolific academic, his 130 publications span big data in healthcare, cardiovascular disease and global health. In 2014, he was selected as a World Heart Federation Emerging Leader, a scheme he now chairs.
