Our next event in the HymersCAN calendar is aimed at those current students in Years 10-13 who may be considering a medical career after Hymers. We are looking forward to welcoming members of our Hymers community to support this vital initiative for our pupils and families.
Ronnie Banerjee
Ronnie was a student at Hymers from 1992 to 2002, before following in the footsteps of his two older brothers into the medical profession. He qualified as a GP but always wanted to pursue a career in sports medicine. He is currently the head doctor at Hull City, GB Taekwondo, and works with Leeds Rhinos and Jamaica Rugby League. Alongside this, he is the founder of AB3 Medical, which improves medical note-keeping within sport and the private healthcare sector through an athlete passport app.
Susan Yorke
Susan is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Lecturer at the University of Hull. She qualified with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Hull in 1999 and specialises in working with children, adolescents, and young adults with mental health difficulties, intellectual difficulties, and neurodevelopmental disorders. She also teaches trainee clinical Psychologists and supervises postgraduate research.
Giles Moore
After leaving Hymers in 2001, Giles studied Veterinary Medicine at the University of Glasgow, graduating in 2006. After 10 years in first opinion small animal practice, he joined Aldgate Veterinary Practice in 2016. Giles became a Director of the company in 2019 and was heavily involved in the development of their purpose-built small animal hospital which opened in Bridlington in November 2022. Aldgate Veterinary Practice is a proudly independent mixed practice that has two sites (Driffield and Bridlington), employing 80 staff including 21 vets. Giles enjoys all areas of small animal practice but has a particular interest in diagnostic imaging.
